Our backyard trampoline is a lot of fun for our entire family. It's also great exercise. With a little research and comparison, we were able to find a great trampoline for our family and yard. We already have two of them, plus a small indoor one. In addition, we have trained youngsters at the local gymnastics center. Of course, this doesn't mean we are "jack of all trades" experts. But it does leave us with enough experience to give you some guidance.

I'm a bit OCD (or maybe neurotic?) ), so I did a lot of homework when choosing our trampoline. For me, it wasn't just about price and size; it was about the safety of my children. After that, I considered how well the particular design would work for our living space and lifestyle.

The trampoline industry has exploded in recent years, and there are many different options available. So many, in fact, that it can be difficult to pick between them, especially when there are so many factors to balance.

That's why we've taken the time to pick out what we think are the six best (in no particular order) outdoor trampolines. Let's jump right in

1. Zupapa 15-14-12 Ft TUV

Available in a variety of sizes, the Zupapa trampoline is one of the most popular products for a reason. It has a good balance of quality and price, maintaining a high level of quality while still being affordable.

The "TUV" at the end means that it has been certified by TUV Nord, a highly respected European certification body for sports equipment, household appliances, toys and DIY products. They are a very strict organization and it's not easy to get them to sign off on your product, so if you see this symbol, you know that you are using the highest quality possible.

And quality is what you get from this German made trampoline. Made of heavy-duty galvanized steel, you hardly have to worry about rust. The legs are wide and braced to provide a high level of stability and are attached to safety net poles for added strength and to prevent twisting from regular use or weather patterns.

The springs are also made of heavy-duty galvanized steel and there are 108 on the 12-foot model compared to 96 on most other trampolines.

2. Skywalker Trampolines 12-Feet Round Trampoline

Skywalker is generally ahead of the curve when it comes to trampoline technology, which means "safety" in most cases, and that is definitely on display here. One of the safest and most fun trampolines on the market, Skywalker's 12-foot round trampolines are great for families with one or two kids who want to play at the same time.

Their pads are tightly woven for strength and have some of the best springs to make each jump a dry one. The material is great and will stand up well to the elements, sometimes lasting for years without any visible damage other than fading.

An often overlooked feature is the padding of the frame, and the padding on this model is really great. Thick and soft, I believe that unless you want to jump on metal, you don't have to worry about hitting this or climbing up/down causing serious injury.

Another nice feature is that the safety net actually snaps onto the frame so your child doesn't accidentally slip under the net or the top of the net doesn't slide down, making it easy to jump over.

If there's any obvious downside to the Skywalker 12-footer, it's that it's hard to put up. It doesn't require a lot of tools, but the instructions are poorly written and there are probably more parts than strictly necessary. I'd almost rather it come in more boxes and have parts already assembled than have to put every little thing together myself.

3. ORCC 15ft Trampoline

ORCC trampolines come in a variety of sizes, but 15 feet is the most popular. If you don't have enough space, you can choose the smaller 12 ft. or 10 ft. models. the ORCC trampoline has a 400 lb. weight limit, making it a great adult trampoline and a great trampoline for kids! The ORCC trampoline frame is made of 43mm (diameter) X 1.5mm (thickness) heavy duty steel.

A few features of the ORCC are the waterproof surface, UV and fade resistant jumping mat and heavy duty stitching technology. the 15 foot model has 108 springs. the ORCC trampoline has a few extra add-ons, namely a ladder, rain cover and wind stakes (which I recommend in my trampoline winterization guide). This mid-range trampoline is a quality product built for your family.

4. Merax 14-Feet Round Trampoline

This 14-foot trampoline from Merax has been updated for 2021. It includes a safety net, has 6 W-shaped legs and 72 galvanized springs. The basketball hoop and ladder are included and it is one of the cheaper trampolines on the market.

It is a good choice for the price-conscious consumer. While it doesn't have all the technical and performance details of the higher end brands, it is still something your kids will have a good time on and is rated at 330 lbs.

Springfree Trampoline

This springless trampoline is an outdoor trampoline designed for spacious backyards. Because of the way it is designed, this springless trampoline is the equivalent of a 16 foot trampoline with springs. This means it will be huge! It is made by Springfree Trampolines, one of the premium brands when it comes to trampolines. It is rated at 220 pounds and the height of the mat is 3.3 feet off the ground. It comes with a 10-year warranty on the entire trampoline, so it's an ideal long-term purchase.

The Flexinet is tear resistant and UV coated. The frame has three layers of rust protection. It is designed to withstand the harsh sun and snow and can be left in place for years without damage. There are a variety of square trampolines for sale, but this model includes a basketball hoop and ladder. The basketball hoop adds an extra element of fun and I recommend including it when purchasing a trampoline.The Springfree trampoline has a frame that is well below the jumping surface, which means if your child loses control while jumping, there will be no metal frame to hit. It is one of the highest rated trampolines in terms of safety.

How We Chose Our Trampoline

Here are some of the most important things we investigated and considered before purchasing a new trampoline. We reviewed and compared various features to make sure we were buying the right equipment.

Trampolines come in a wide range of sizes. Trampolines for home use generally range in size from 6 feet to 17 feet in diameter. Of course, we wanted to get the most bang for our buck here, but we had to measure the available space in the yard first to make sure we left enough room on all sides.

We wanted a large model, but we couldn't cram a 17-foot trampoline into the small space we were allotted. My rule of thumb is that you need to have at least 5-10 feet of clearance on all four sides of the trampoline. In addition, you need head clearance. I wanted our yard to have 25 feet of vertical clearance to ensure absolute safety.
